http://www.mainichi.jp/articles/2018062 ... 50/000000c

In November 2017, we announced that the DMM Group, which deals with content distribution services, acquired the STVV management rights of the Football / Belgian first division league.

The Belgian League has recently been active in numerous Japanese players such as Nagasaki Kawashima (currently belonging to the female of the French league) and Yuya Kubo (Gent), and attracting attention in Japan as well. A major Japanese company has decided to participate in such a league and called a big topic, mainly in the football world.

Why did DMM undertake a wide variety of contents and began managing overseas football clubs? In Europe, what kind of change will you bring to a small club in the Belgian league that can be said to be developing?

Representative director of DMM, and Mr. Yusuke Muranaka who is the chairman of STVV, tells the truth.

I want to bring a good part of Japan to Belgium

"The idea of having a soccer team overseas" is the opportunity for the project to have a proposal. Specifically, there was a story from Belgian, Portuguese and Austrian leagues. These leagues have no foreign nationality, and there is a common merit of bringing athletes from various countries including Japanese athletes. From there, a concrete team name was actually raised, and eventually three teams were selected as candidates, and it was decided to be STVV.

As far as the economic situation of the team is concerned, none of the clubs listed as candidates was good. Besides, when you go through the candidate teams one by one, you have to look at all the financial situation and it will be a tremendous task. So, after reviewing the business situation and selling conditions, I narrowed it to a team that is expected to monetize.

Nonetheless, the only thing I know about the Belgian league is (*) Yuya Kubo who has players. However, Mr. Duchatelet, the club's owner, can communicate in English and Mr. Duchatelet is the former owner of Standard Liege, but Yuji Ono (now Sagan Tosu) and Kawashima Nagaya (currently · female) who belonged to him I was very praised. There seems to be an image that the Japanese work seriously, and seriousness corresponds to us.

※ Yuya Kubo · · · Transferred from Kyoto Sanga F.C. to Belgium · Young Boys in 2013. In 2017 he moved to Ghent for the maximum amount of club history, and now he is active as a team's ace striker.

Actually, I had a story about the management of the J League team quite a while ago in Japan, but I did not go there specifically. Although we got the story of the sponsor, we are an IT company absolutely placing emphasis on the result and there were parts that it was hard to measure how much return is.

Because this time is management talk, it was easy to find out where we aimed at themselves. The goal is to go to the stage above the Belgian League, playoff 1, there are the European League and the Champions League. I myself liked soccer, so I felt that it was very attractive that players from various countries got hired and young talent nested and played an active part.

"Refund money" will be returned when winning young athletes !?

Recently, young players often leave Belgium to major European leagues, but in this league there is a system that refunds will be refunded to the club (*) regardless of nationality, if you win a player under 25 years old . That is why, as a club, I think that we are focusing on actively acquiring young athletes, growing them and sending them to the next stage.

※ In the Belgian League, income tax will be returned to the club at the maximum of 80% if the personnel expenses of players under 25 years old exceeds a certain number.

In January I won the Tomiyasu Kiyohi player who belonged to Apispa Fukuoka, but as in the case of Dutch Nakayasu who is active in the Netherlands, Japan is also expected to have a younger generation to go abroad more and more think.

It is only within imagination what the team of J League is doing, but STVV is a club in a small city in Belgium, management is somewhat in the red. Although I saw how many matches were played at the site, there were some unavoidable parts because the number of staff members was small, but there was an impression that I could not do it anywhere. I felt strongly that Japan is made up of the efforts of club members.

Although the J League got excited with Dawn at the beginning of the opening and then gradually became less popular, considering that it managed to recover somehow and the audience increased, there was a lot of people's efforts and enthusiasm I feel made. The good part of Japan must also be brought to Belgium and we feel that we only have to grow because we are in a situation where there is still much to be done.

There is a big difference between the top six teams and the bottom 10 teams

The challenge now is to make everyone of the club a "real pro". For example, if it is a one-year contract, players and directors will have a sense of "being tomorrow, I might be cut". However, since the coach of the former regime was not accompanied by the former coach, there were parts where the consciousness of the part was scarce, and there was also a part which was slightly different as if it is driven as a professional in the real sense if it is driven. The challenge is to make all the staff a real professional, including those aspects.

※ On May 23, 2018, the new coach of the 2018 - 2019 season and coach appointment was announced.

Basically, the members are basically the same as the system before the acquisition, adding a Belgian sports director or putting CEO Takashi Takashi (former FC Tokyo GM) in the business side. Mr. Tateishi got acquainted with his acquaintance, but he does not feel like a former football player in a good sense. I was surprised to see the soccer team from a very business point of view. Back then I had never met people from the football community so I overturned the image I was holding.

Members who are engaged in club management in Japan have people who have soccer experience in Argentina, internship experience in Albirex Niigata Singapore, and people who are interested in football. We are promoting sponsor sales etc. in Japan.

Japan's operational quality in Belgium

As DMM is an IT company, we are also advancing the IT related strategy of the stadium. The circumstances of the stadium in Belgium has not been grasped yet, but in terms of security, Japan is clearly in place. When I went to Bruges, despite not having received the tickets yet, due to the lack of security, I also had the experience of putting in the stadium when I noticed it.

Although the STVV stadium is relatively new, I'd like to digitize the sale of tickets and foods in the future and I think that we will gradually increase content that can only be seen on the stadium's Wi-Fi.

※ Automatic relegation 16th in the regular season

The current goal is to enter playoff 1 in the shortest, and I would like to enter it within three years at the latest. However, within 3 years, on the field, "I think that it is good to put it in the third year" is considered, so it is reported as the shortest (laugh). Since Anderlecht to which Ryota Morioka belongs is a powerful one, 10,000 audience enters if you play, and it is advantageous to have playoff 1 in various ways as well.

In the future, I would like to take plenty of measures to make the entire city excited. I would like to involve the whole of the city, such as sticking out an eye-catching poster in the city and creating an atmosphere that makes it all together. Also, I hope to show my determination to change "around" by presenting a strong slogan of message nature.

Learning from the J-League and European CL, making goals for watching the stadium

I go to see Kawasaki Frontale 's game well, but honestly, children are not watching the game so far. Even so, I have a store nearby and I am enjoying it. I think that feeling is so important that I think that the purpose of going is to extend the play. STVV is not a club where many children come to see, but Belgian likes to drink alcohol anyway, so I wish I could have a drink at the stadium.

I still drink at the stadium until around 1 o'clock in the stadium and continue to drink beer until the last guest comes home. I think that it may be good for drinking and coming to a fuss.

Because Japanese people can give detailed attention, I think that they have the best operation quality in the world. However, in the case of Japan In many cases the municipality manages the stadium, so there are parts that the club can not manage and operate freely in terms of eating and drinking and selling goods. In our case, if you want to change something you can change yourself, you can all make yourself profitable. That is why there is a responsibility that we have to do. Although there are such differences, I think that the J League whose purpose to go to the stadium is made from various angles is purely amazing.

Of course, I also learn from other European countries. When I went to see the Champions League in Allianz Arena in Germany the other day, I thought that it made sense. Basically, eating and drinking in the stadium must be in line. There was a booth selling beer using staircase dead space if I thought that I do not like to line up, although my soccer game had only two hours including half time. There is an older brother who is pouring beer for a long time, if you settle it easily with a card, you can buy it in a flash. If it is Japanese, it will not be drunk so it does not matter, but people in Belgium and Germany drink as much as twice as many as Japanese, so that efficiency is good.

You can put it in the stadium almost in line with that audience mobilization number, go smoothly even seats, and you can buy foods and drinks at once. I was able to return home smoothly on the way home, and there was not any stress. In Japan, I caught up in the crowd when I went to see the club World Cup, but there are many paths to Allianz Arena before going to the stadium, people are scattered. It is made with firm thought around that.

"Base" in the factor of success of Paris and Monaco

In the future, I would like to give Japanese people the opportunity to go abroad. Of course, I want to give opportunities to players in various countries, not limited to Japanese people, and I would like to make a base for better clubs, including the number of visitors. As fans are looking for something like that to us, we have to go on steadily.

Even if you are brought a director who is said to be a generals, I think that there is another step necessary for success. We are not at that stage yet, and we have to gradually improve the club. I did not become strong because I spent money because Paris · Saint-Germain and Monaco also succeeded because there was a base accepted even if money came in, even if I do it without base, think.

However, the director is important. The club can not go on in a good condition all the year and it is the boss that brings all members together in the same direction with each player having different ideas. Whether there is a sense of boss in the director is very important, and if it is not a person who can be held solidly, the player will get lost. Many young players, too, the team will change drastically by the director.

I am looking for a manager on the business side now, and the number of affiliated clubs and sponsors should also increase in the future. As the importance of people increases every time, because we are doing with a small number of people, we need to raise individual quality and make it possible to respond to anything.

It is like DMM, but I think that it is good to have a situation that seems to be "I'm also a football club, but I do other things too". Since scheduled harmony is boring, I want to gradually give out colors without being caught by common sense.

Heel juist verwoord, Positivo.
