Kevin Muscat has revealed his desire to revive his coaching career in England after a recent stint in Belgium.
The Australian manager was axed by Belgian Pro League club Sint-Truiden late last year after winning just two of his first 15 games in charge.
Prior to that, the former Socceroos defender enjoyed success at the helm of Melbourne Victory - winning four pieces of silverware during his near six-year spell.
Since Muscat's departure, the A-League side have struggled significantly with pressure mounting on current coach Grant Brebner with the club rooted to the bottom of the table.
Victory as a whole are in need of some significant changes with fans recently protesting at training with a banner reading 'The line has been crossed' following a 6-0 loss against Melbourne City.
The club will have to turn their fortunes around without Muscat, however, with the Aussie all but ruling out a return as he looks to land another gig in Europe and preferably England.
"Loving it. When I went out and finished my career in Australia, took over and had some success, not only with the football but with some trophies," Muscat told the Mill Wall podcast when asked about his managerial career.
"Was working in the Pro League in Belgium last year and loved it."
Asked if he wants to work in England at some point, Muscat replied: "Hopefully, that’s why I’m basing myself here in London, I’m going to stay here and re-network myself."
Muscat spent several seasons in England as a player lining up for the likes of Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Millwall.
Wherever Muscat does find himself working next, he'll likely have to deal with VAR, which continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons in Australia and abroad.
The former Melbourne Victory boss isn't completely against the system, however, and believes issues surrounding it come down to interpretation.
"I truly believe that we the public weren’t educated enough on the system. We’ve just got a second person now making a judgement call," Muscat said.
"I’m a firm believer that nothing changes more than people...we wanted everything to be perfect but it’s not possible to be perfect.
"We complain about the VAR and offside but in reality that’s not VAR, that’s the laws we’ve put in around it and the humans deciding it."

Football is football and talent is talent. But the mindset of your team makes all the difference.
